Red Square

We folk danced
on Red Square every weekend.

A string of naked bulbs
in carny cone reflectors
A dark and summer night. Hot light.
Splashing bright on dull red brick
and deep ivygrown walls.
A silly tree right in the middle.
(Probably the world’s only Red Square
with a tree in the middle.)

Loudspeakers
Mark Post's wornout 78's
from Poland, and Estonia?
Tinny sound, rusty bicycle racks and

Folks arm in arm
Hand to hand
Round and round the tree we danced !!!
Sweaty. Buggy. Horny. Ha ha.

Once each week, at least.
Folk worship. Amen.
Do they still dance on Red Square?
